The town has two street sweepers for clean up of our street network of over 85 miles of road. Operations begin in the spring as soon as winter seems over. We do try to sweep the business areas of Route # 1 and Route # 100 earlier recognizing that we will have to re-sweep later.
The business sections and high pedestrian / bicycle traffic areas are a priority with the overall goal to complete sweeping by Memorial Day in normal years.
Resident clean up activity should not include sweeping any debris into piles along the roadside. The debris can be a significant hazard to pedestrians and bicyclists as well as difficult for our sweepers.
Periodic updates will be posted to the web-site so that residents can easily monitor our progress.
