Paving/Road Project Schedule
Bridge Construction 2008

The Maine Turnpike Authority has changed their plans to refurbish four bridges during the summer of 2008.  The Maine Turnpike Authority will now be working on the underpass bridge repair on Auburn Street, Leighton Road, and Mountain Road during the summer of 2009.

The fourth bridge construction project, under the auspices of the Maine Department of Transportation, will be the Merrill Bridge located on Falmouth Road near the Winn Road Intersection.  The bridge construction is slated to occur from July 1, 2008 to October 15, 2008.  The road will be closed to through traffic during construction.  Shoulder and sidewalk work will continue after October 15, 2008 until completion.  Traffic will be reduced to one lane during daytime hours.

Informational notices will be posted in the local newspaper, Town website, and on the Local Access Channel.  


State Projects Schedule

• Falmouth Road Reconstruction:
Merrill Road to Middle Road.  This project has been designed by MDOT, but awaits future funding.

• Route 100 Reconstruction:
Leighton road to Libby Bridge. This project has been designed by MDOT, but awaits future funding.

• Merrills Bridge Replacement:
Falmouth Road. MDOT plans total replacement of the bridge in summer 2008 with the road closed to traffic from May 1 - October 15 2008.

• Lunt Road/Depot Road:
Repaving road from Falmouth Road to Route 88.  Scheduled by MDOT for 2008.

Town Projects Schedule

• Johnson Road Reconstruction:
Between Route 1 and Route 88 is now a Town project.  Weather permitting; the current date to begin construction is August 25, 2008.

• Falmouth Road Reconstruction:
From Leighton Road to Winn Road may be delayed to spring 2009 due to the Town taking over the Johnson Road project from MDOT.  

• Middle Road Reconstruction:
From Presumscott River to Pleasant Hill Road.  Project started June 30, 2008.  Grinding, grading, and paving is schedule to begin August 4, 2008.

• Middle Road Reconstruction:
Pleasant Hill Road to Ledgewood Drive anticipated for early 2009.

• Lower Route 1 Sidewalk:
A portion of this funding to construct sidewalk along the east side of Route 1 from Gilsland Farm Road toward Martin Point Bridge is included in the 2007-2008 budget.  Completion of the project will be funded in future budgets as approved by Town Council.

• Ledgewood Drive Reconstruction:
Anticipated for 2009.
