Liquor licenses are issued by the Maine Bureau of Alcoholic Beverages. Applications may be obtained by calling the office in Augusta at (207) 624-8745 or clicking on the following link: http://www.maine.gov/dps/liqr/homepage.htm
All new and renewed licenses must be approved by the Town Council before being sent to Augusta. New licenses require a public hearing, notice of which must be given in a local newspaper for three (3) consecutive days prior to the hearing. The cost of this advertisement is to be paid for by the applicant.
